It is with deep sadness that the passing of Mary M. Violanti of Lackawanna, New York, is announced. Mary was born on February 2, 1938, and passed away peacefully on August 23, 2026, leaving behind a loving family and many friends who will remember her with affection.

Mary’s life was defined by family, love and the many relationships she built over the years. Her passing marks the loss of a cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, relative and friend.

Family and Loved Ones

Mary was predeceased by her parents, Anthony Susi and Alma Susi, as well as Samuel Violanti, Teresa Gemmati (Carlo), Virginia Makeyenko (Albert), and James Susi (Babe).

She is survived by her children:

  • Rose Mary Graham (Tom O’SHei)
  • Joanne Vazquez (Bill)
  • Samuel Violanti (Judy)

She also leaves behind numerous grandchildren, including Seth Graham, Cally Graham, Lisa Amer (Jay), Will Vazquez (Hannah), Naomi Gazal (Joel), Joseph Vazquez (Taryn), Joshua Violanti (Diana), Zachary Violanti, and Benjamin Violanti (Natalie).

Mary was also a beloved great-grandmother to Samir, Xenia, Marina, Julianna, Gabriel Amer, Mia, Michael, Gabriella, Theo, Josiah, Elijah, Mateo, Nettie Vazquez, Nadeema, Emma, Sophia Gazel, Riley, Beatrice and MacKenna Violanti.

She is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
